Agnese Alfano started working with MAx in 2021, after working on luxury hotel projects and living and studying in Turin and Beijing.
Since joining MAx she has led a number of high-end residential and commercial refurbishment projects, such as a boutique hotel in Modica, a café interior in Milan and a small but beautifully crafted make-up studio.
Agnese’s key interests in Architecture range from heritage to curatorial projects, to public place-making project. Within private residential projects, Agnese has been exploring the significance of the idea of ‘home’ in different cultures.
Of her time with MAx so far she says: “I strongly believe in the ‘research first’ methodology that MAx applies. Working on such a large variety of projects of different scales and contexts, makes research a crucial part of our work. As architects we have a responsibility for quality of life of a built environment and it is paramount we base our designs both on scientific data and an intuitive understanding of the sense of place.”
In all instances, her focus is putting people at the centre of the project – whether clients or users – whilst aiming at creating enjoyable, safe, accessible, and fun spaces.
